Outcomes

These are the expected outcomes for participants of this module:

 

Participants will learn the service coordination roles and responsibilities as defined by Part C of IDEA.

 

Participants will recognize the central role of families in service coordination.

 

Participants will identify the major service coordination roles and activities.

 

Participants will know the Part C early intervention services.

 

Participants will demonstrate their knowledge of the variety of resources that can potentially provide early intervention services.

 

Participants will know what Part C says about service coordination.

 

Participants will understand how to provide family centered service coordination.

 

 Participants will describe elements of family-centered needs assessment.

 

Participants will describe how to use family-centered needs assessment information to assist families in developing family and child outcomes, strategies, and services.

 

Participants will know how to plan for an initial IFSP meeting.

 

Participants will understand the various roles IFSP team members play in the group process.

 

Participants will understand the principles of facilitation and conflict resolution.

 

Participants will understand how to facilitate a smooth transition from intake service coordination to ongoing service coordination.

 

Participants will understand the role of the ongoing service coordinator and the activities of ongoing service coordination.

 

Participants will know the steps and flow of the service coordination process.

 

Participants will know what they need to do to complete the final project.
