Welcome to the main page for Module III:

IFSP Outcomes in Natural Environments

Purpose

As Missouri places an emphasis on professional development for First Steps (FS) service providers and families, the need for a common understanding of the procedures and the process of writing an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) that focus on child and family outcomes is becoming more important. This training will address the legal procedures for developing an IFSP, what information is required to be in an IFSP, and how to write an IFSP. A better understanding will be built of how natural environments work in FS as well as how the family is involved in FS planning and services.

(Note to the learner: This course provides the information that you will need to pass the assessment for this module. You will need to read and understand all the information presented to be able to pass the assessment. When there is a link to information you need to read and understand that information also. You will be tested on the information that is linked. Reading the material, working through the Review questions and Reflection questions, and taking the assessment will take 7 to 9 hours that should be spread over more than one day. A good plan would be to work one or two Units a day.)
